Images from Archaeological Monitoring at Barnburgh Lane (Phase 3), Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire, 2023

This collection comprises images from archaeological monitoring undertaken prior to the third stage of a housing development at land off Barnburgh Lane, Goldthorpe, South Yorkshire. Work was carried out by York Archaeology between August and October 2023. The archaeological monitoring of the topsoil strip established the presence of four probable backfilled mineshafts relating to the later stages of mining activity towards the end of the 19th century.
