Magnetic resonance spectroscopy is a cornerstone analytical technique in structural chemistry, materials science, and life science. This work provides a comprehensive review of more than a decade of independent instrumentation development undertaken by the Magnetic Resonance Laboratory of the Analysis Center at Tsinghua University, focusing on solid-state NMR (SSNMR) rotors and sample preparation tools, a liquid-helium free cryogenic (6 K) electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) system, and integrated NMR-EPR technologies. We first outline the domestic development of SSNMR rotors and associated sample preparation toolkits driven by practical requirements for solid-state sample handling. We then describe the design principles, engineering strategies, and performance characteristics of the liquid-helium free ultralow temperature EPR system, which overcomes longstanding international monopolies. Finally, we summarize the key technological advances enabling the construction of China’s first integrated ultralow-temperature NMR-EPR platform. The discussion encompasses innovation rationale, technical methodologies, engineering challenges, and performance validation, highlighting the broader implications for advancing the domestic capability in magnetic resonance instrumentation.
