Microbiome of Littorina snails

In this study we investigate microbiomes, associated with several species of the North Atlantic Littorina snails using 16S and 18S metabarcoding. We describe microbial communities from the snails' habitat, body surface and gut in order to test whether there is specific microbiota associated with the snail host and whether the microbes can play role in the rapid divergence of Littorina species and ecotypes.
