In this study, we used whole-genome sequences from most parental lines of the admixed Florida panthers that resulted from the introduction of Texas pumas into South Florida in order to understand evolutionary and demographic processes occurring in the puma. We assembled a composite genome and identified genes and polymorphisms linked to adaptive traits in pumas.
