We compared the transcriptome of the immortalized HERS cell line HERS-H1 and HERS-C2, using the Agilent Rat 4x44K Gene Expression Microarrays. We used primary Hertwig’s epithelial root sheath (HERS) cells as naïve cell reference. Overall design: Three biological replicates were used for each of the samples (primary HERS cells, HERS-H1 cells and HERS-C2 cells). The primary Hertwig’s epithelial root sheath cells were isolated from the mandibular first molars of postnatal 8 days Sprague-Dawley rats. Immortalized HERS cell line HERS-H1 and HERS-C2 were derived from the primary Hertwig’s epithelial root sheath cells by retroviral introduction SV40 large T antigens.
