Interferon regulatory factor 1 (IRF1) is a critical component of cell-intrinsic innate immunity that regulates both constitutive and induced antiviral defenses. However, how its activity is controlled by host factors has remained poorly characterized. We employed a ChIP-seq genome-wide investigation and revealed that CSNK2B plays important role in modulating IRF1 binding to DNA elements, thereby affecting transcription of cellular genes classified in diverse functional categories.
