Iberian atmospheric river detection catalogue based on ERA5 reanalysis data

This dataset contains an atmospheric river (AR) catalogue created for the publication Luís et al. (2025), "Atmospheric Rivers in the Iberian Peninsula: Connection with Extratropical Fronts and Precipitation", Journal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, 130, e2025JD043891 (https://doi.org/10.1029/2025JD043891). The associated methodology is described in this publication. The dataset provides information on the persistent ARs that affected the Iberian Peninsula, in the period 1979-2020, based on ERA5 reanalysis data with 6-hour time resolution and 0.25° x 0.25° spatial resolution.
