VPRS 14746 Photo Negatives

This record series comprises two books of photo negatives. Included in each book is a handwritten description of each negative. The captions are numbered to match the numbers of the negatives. The books contain 100 negatives each. However Book 2 has descriptions for the first fifty-six negatives only. The date range for Book 1 is 1950-1956. The date range for Book 2 is 1955-1956.A report in the Authority's file SC/R/64 dated 27 June 1974 states that these records were subjected to very little retrieval within the Authority and that the negatives are of very poor quality.These records were the responsibility of the Publications and Information section. The aim of that section was to promote soil conservation and the Authority. The use of photography assisted in that purpose. Specifically, the section was required to develop and maintain a photographic record of activities including field days, structures, types of soil erosion and soil conservation activities of all kinds.
