Dataset: Spring- and fall-flowering species show diverging phenological responses to climate in the Southeast USA

This dataset is a simplified version of the one used in the following publication: Pearson, K.D. Spring- and fall-flowering species show diverging phenological responses to climate in the Southeast USA. Int J Biometeorol 63, 481–492 (2019). https://doi.org/10.1007/s00484-019-01679-0 It consists of data from 24,668 herbarium specimens of 81 species (11 genera) of Asteraceae collected in the Southeast Coastal Plain and scored for their phenological status, as described in the reference above. The data were downloaded from the iDigBio portal in 2017, but most specimen records are now available in GBIF or in SEINet. The data have not been updated since initial download and thus may not represent the full extent of data (e.g., georeferences) available. The following columns are included in the dataset: Collection.Code: the acronym of the herbarium where the specimen is housed coreid: the occurrenceID of the specimen record ImageURL: the URL at which the primary image could be downloaded in 2017. Note that most of these links are now defunct.
