During his stay in 1979, he visited Wu Fai hospital in Peking, met about 20 doctors, saw some patients, and learned about the disease entities of primary importance to China. He also lectured at Peking Medical College, traveled to the cities of Luoyang and Xian, and saw many tourist attractions, including the Great Wall and the Forbidden City.
