Ninjin'yoeito Improves Genitourinary Symptoms in Patients with Frailty

Urinary symptoms such as urinary frequency and urinary incontinence tend to appear with age and significantly reduce the quality of life. Moreover, many women have concurrent genital and urethral pain. Elderly women are more likely to experience genitourinary symptoms. Further, some patients with frailty experience frequent urination, overactive bladder, and urinary incontinence. Frailty may occur due to age-related tissue fragility. Hence, we hypothesized that frailty treatment would improve genitourinary symptoms. Ninjin'yoeito (NYT), a traditional Chinese herbal medicine composed of 12 crude drugs was used for frailty treatment. We aimed to determine the effect of NYT use in frail patients with genitourinary syndrome of menopause (GSM).
