The Seungjeongwon Ilgi Meteorological Dataset was created by the Center for Northeast Asian Studies, covering daily meteorological records of the Korean Peninsula from 1623 to 1910, spanning a total of 288 years. The dataset contains meteorological records for 100,620 days, including meteorological elements such as temperature and wind force, which were extracted and categorized from original documents via text mining techniques. During the dataset development process, researchers converted traditional lunar calendar dates to Gregorian calendar dates, improving the data's readability and usability. This dataset is primarily utilized for research on long-term climate change, especially climatic conditions during the 17th-century global crisis, providing a valuable data resource for historical climatology studies.
