The "Carbon Soil: Microorganisms and Carbon in Paranaense Soybean Farming" project primarily aims to investigate the effectiveness of various treatments with microorganisms in soybean agricultural soils in the northwest region of Paraná, Brazil, with a special focus on carbon fixation. The methodology includes the application of different types of microorganisms to the soil, observing variations in soil health and soybean productivity. In addition, shotgun metagenomic analyses are conducted to understand the composition and functions of the microorganisms present in the soil, before and after the treatments. The main focuses of the study are the evaluation of the treatments' ability to increase carbon fixation in the soil, thereby contributing to the mitigation of climate change and improving soil quality, and the examination of the effects of these treatments on soil biodiversity and its relationship with soybean productivity.
