Line transect observations of wildlife and human disturbance recorded using distance sampling in Mahale Mountains National Park, Tanzania

This dataset corresponds to research conducted in Mahale Mountains National Park, Tanzania. The primary goal of this research was to accomplish the first comprehensive and systematic census of chimpanzees (<em>Pan troglodytes schweinfurthii</em>) inside MMNP. All direct and indirect (e.g., tracks, feces) observations of medium to large mammals and human disturbance (e.g., snares) were recorded. This research was conducted from March 2018 - January 2019. Data were collected via distance sampling across 102 transects from 13 survey sites.
