The main objective of the present work is to provide a deep characterization ofthe sperm transcriptome by RNA-seq technologies, focusing on the data integration andfunctional description of both sperm mRNAs and lncRNAs. A large population of fertile donors was characterized under strict selection criteria, and their semen samples were carefully processed by an optimized methodology for sperm transcriptome obtainment and processing, with strict quality controls.
