This 6-column tabular file gathers terms to designate the physiological stage of the female i.e., the number of gestation of females. While "primiparous" and "multiparous" are common terms for parity, we also encounter alternative expressions, such as "Bred for the first time" or references to the specific number of parity (e.g., "x"-parity). Additionally, certain terms specific to porcine species clarify parity distinctions. "Sows" refer to multiparous pigs, while "gilts" are primiparous pigs. In this table, we identify the two physiological stages—primiparous and multiparous—assigning an ID to each, and include their synonyms and specific terms relevant to pigs.
