The study includes patients who, at the point of consent for the PICCOLO trial, had agreed to the use of their archival tissue in future research and for whom adequate stored formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tumour tissue remained. The ethics for PICCOLO trial consent and use in research is COREC 06/Q0906/38.
