Chlorella desiccata (nom. nud.) strain:UTEX 2526 Genome sequencing and assembly

Chorella desiccata 2437 was originally isolated from a desiccated microbial mat collected in Laguna Figueroa, Baja California, Mexico and was purchased from the UTEX culture collection (Margulis et al.). Literature on this species indicates that it holds promise as a marine biofuel species and is amenable to transformation (Rachutin Zalogin and Pick; Borovsky et al.).
