Leading countries by value of lithium-ion battery projects planned worldwide 2023

As of September 2023, the value of the lithium-ion battery storage projects planned in China was approximately 128 billion U.S. dollars, compared to 107 billion U.S. dollars in the United States and less than 100 billion U.S. dollars overall in the European Union countries. That year, China accounted for a 68 percent share of the announced battery manufacturing projects worldwide.
