资源简介:
In response to the growing need for efficient road infrastructure in urbanizations within Lambayeque, this research examines the technical and economic viability of Thin Concrete Pavement (TCP) compared to traditional asphalt pavement in the Los Sauces urbanization of Lambayeque. The study encompasses all roads in the urbanization, covering approximately 985,000 square feet across 59 streets, with a focus on Pimentel Avenue, which spans about 174,499.59 square feet. Methodologically, the research employed road traffic studies, soil mechanics analyses, and topographic surveys to evaluate pavement performance. The results revealed that Pimentel Avenue experienced 193,589.10 Equivalent Axles and had a design California Bearing Ratio (CBR) of 5.15%. For the asphalt pavement, the AASTHO 1993 method recommended a structure with a 2-inch asphalt layer, a 8-inch base, and a 6.7-inch subbase. In contrast, the optimized TCP design included a 4.7-inch thick concrete slab with a flexural strength of 580 psi, supported by a 6-inch base. Economically, optimized slabs resulted in a 14.5% cost saving and reduced construction times by 8 days compared to traditional asphalt. Additionally, the TCP demonstrated superior durability, leading to lower maintenance costs. The findings strongly support the use of TCP as the optimal choice for local roads in the Los Sauces urbanization.
