Valley Floor Extent for California at 10-m
收藏资源简介:
A binary raster mapping valley floor extent across California. Valley floors are the topographic region containing the river bounded by and distinct from surrouding hillslopes. Valley floors in this dataset cover both floodplain and terrace deposits as well as lateral deposits such as alluvial fans. Resolution/CRS: 10-m, EPSG:3310 (NAD83 California Albers) For each HUC08 watershed intersecting with California, DEM (USGS 3DEP 10m) and NHD Flowlines (medium resolution) are fetched. Each DEM was hydrologically conditioned and processed into a labeled channel network, subbasins, and HAND (height above nearest drainage) raster. Valley floor extent was then delineated using vhs (Valley Hillslope Separator), whcih combines slope-based region growing with reach specific flood-fill thresholds derived from automated cross section analysis. Per-HUC08 rasters were mosaiced into the final output.
