资源简介:

The data was compiled by CPW GIS from various sources including CPW Pinyon Jay Surveys, BIO Logic, Inc surveys, BLM surveys and the model was a collaborative effort between CPW, BLM, and South Dakota State University, a statewide predictive model of colony-site suitability was developed based on colony locations identified across Colorado between 2019-2024. Further source information is in the layer’s individual metadata. The protocol can be downloaded from the following site: https://cat-adams.github.io/CPW_PinyonJayConservation_Documents/ The following are the layers included in the data package: Pinyon Jay Colony-Site Suitability Model (PIJA CO Colony Suitability 2026) data type: Raster. This layer predicts probability of colony-site suitability on a 0-1 scale. The objectively determined maxSSS threshold (Liu et al. 2016), which balances correctly identified colony sites with minimizing false positives, is 0.41 (41% probability of colony site suitability), indicating that cells with a predicted suitability of ≥ 41% are classified as suitable habitat for pinyon jay colonies. Pinyon Jay Priority Area Model (PIJA CO Priority Areas 2026) data type: vector, polygon. This layer was created from the suitability model and provides binary values that represent colony-site suitability. High priority areas support breeding colonies, whereas Low priority areas are not suitable. Pinyon Jay Colony Polygons (PIJA CO Colony 2026) data type: vector, polygon. This layer is from the annually maintained and updated layers of known active and old nest locations in Colorado that have been used to map out Pinyon Jay active colony polygons. This data is compiled by incorporating data from CPW surveys and partner agencies. Pinyon Jay Nest Locations (PIJA CO Nests 2026) data type: vector, point. This layer is from the annually maintained and updated layers of known active and old nest locations in Colorado. This data is compiled by incorporating data from CPW surveys and partner agencies. 2.5 x 2.5 Kilometer Survey Grid (PIJA CO 2_5 Grids) data type: vector, polygon. This data layer is provided as an aid in setting up areas to conduct Pinyon Jay point counts. Pinyon Jay Point Count Locations (PIJA CO Grid Points) data type: vector, points. This layer consists of pre-located points, 9 per 2.5km x 2.5 km grid cell, that can be used as part of the Pinyon Jay Point Cout Protocol.
