This series is a consolidated record of the examination and payment details of students attending the Departments Teacher Training College between 1878 and 1909.Teacher students attended the College for one or two years depending on the level of qualification they wanted to attain.The details in the record include the students name and record number, the students classification (position and roll number), bonds, repayment of 20 pounds under Regulation XXIII, 6a, bonus amount, date entered Training College, results of examinations, date left Training College, Board Allowance, Board Payments, any prizes won, and other remarks.At the front of the register, before the index, there are a number of reference notes, presumable made by an official at the College, relating to student teachers. The notes concern matters such as Allowances for Board of Students, Science Exams, and winners of prizes prior to 1899. Some of these notes contain reference numbers denoting regulations or amendments thereof.
