资源简介:
The role of a construction project manager (CPM) in moderating critical project success factors has been proven in the past literature. A competent CPM is crucial for ensuring project success. However, with the digital transformation in the construction industry, project management has become more lean-agile, necessitating broader success. Industry practitioners are uncertain if this new era requires fundamentally different CPM competencies to satisfy customers' evolving needs. Moreover, CPMs in Singapore traditionally had limited authority, which has sparked a discussion on the ideal CPM profile. This study aims to address this issue by identifying the critical competencies of Singapore CPMs. To achieve this, the study employed a mixed-method approach, which included conducting a focus-group survey using the Delphi method and analyzing job advertisements through data mining. The results show that individuals and organizations still emphasize essential project management skills, which the current Project Management Professional (PMP) development program covers. The results of this study have significant value in improving the content of existing training programs. The training courses offered by the Building and Construction Authority (BCA) Academy are an excellent supplement to the PMP certification training course. The research findings confirm that combining these two programs effectively fulfills the industry's requirements.
