Maps developed by Sandal et al used an F2 mapping population established from an interspecific cross between L. japonicus Gifu B-129 and L. filicaulis. 80% of the microsatellite markers generated for the cross between L. japonicus Gifu and Miyakojima can also be mapped in the L. filicaulis x L. japonicus Gifu mapping population, making it possible to align the two maps.
