EFFECT OF A COMBINED PREPARATION ON LIPID PEROXIDATION IN RAT LIVER MITOCHONDRIA UNDER STREPTOZOTOCIN-INDUCED DIABETES
收藏资源简介:
Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disorder characterized by chronic hyperglycemia and associated with increased oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction [1]. In streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetes, excessive production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) leads to enhanced lipid peroxidation and cellular damage [2]. Mitochondria are key sources of ROS, and their impairment contributes to disruption of energy metabolism and antioxidant defense systems [3]. Lipid peroxidation, particularly in mitochondrial membranes, is a critical factor in the progression of diabetic complications, with malondialdehyde (MDA) serving as a major biomarker of oxidative damage [1,3]. Previous studies have shown that bioactive compounds, including polyphenols, can improve mitochondrial function and reduce oxidative stress [5].
