A unicellular fungus found on the external cuticule of Crustacea, Amphipods, Isopods, Copepods and Insects.. Amoebidium parasiticum

A high-density coverage of the Amoebidium parasiticum genome sequence is expected. The sequencing of the A. parasiticum genome is part of an international effort dedicated to study genome evolution and whose goal is to determine the genes responsible for the origins of multicellular organisms. The genome of this organism will be sequenced at the Broad Institute of the Massachusetts Institute of Tecnology and Harvard.
