Census of Agriculture, 1949 Through 1974, Cumulative File

<p>This study contains State and county data for approximately 750 items for all farms from 1949 through 1974. Variables include characteristics of farms, irrigation and land use, conservation practices, income and market value of products, harvested acreage, crop production, inventory and sales of livestock, use of fertilizers and agriculture chemicals. The dataset description supplied by National Archives and Records administration states that the file also contains statistics for Class I-IV farms (value of products sold $5000 and over) for 1969 and 1974. However, the record layout indicates that the file contains statistics for Class I-V farms (value of products sold $2500 and over) for 1964 and 1974.</p>
