The bacterial diversity of the ice core samples retrieved from the three glaciers of West Sikkim viz. Frey-Peak, Rathong, and Kabru Glacier were studied using 16SrRNA gene amplicon sequencing. The ice core samples were collected from the accumulation zone of the glacier, using ice corer machine(1.5m length, KOVAC's Enterprise) and in the laboratory it was further processed in the positive laminar airflow.
