Sample of institutional posters and protest banners against gender violence

<p>This project's main objective is to analyze the multimodal strategies of polarization in political discourse. The methods and analytical tools of Sociocognitive Linguistics (SCL) and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) are used in order to understand the relationship between language, cognition, and social practices in the construction of polarization.</p>
<p>The dataset includes 280 posters collected from 2005 to 2023 against gender violence and 60 feminist protest banners 2017-2020.</p>
<p>100 posters collected from 2022 to 2023 are used to analyse anti-gender violence institutional posters as polarizing narratives using critical and socio-cognitive tools. </p>
<p>180 posters collected from 2005 to 2022 are analyzed to study the diachronic evolution of the socio-cognitive frames identified in the data.</p>
<p>60 feminist protest banners collected from Spanish feminist rallies to study multimodal discursive strategies of the slogans.</p>
