As BAI1 is essential for the PEP complex assembly, we reasoned that the phenotypic defects in the bai1 mutant could be attributed to a mis-regulation of genes for proper chloroplast biogenesis or function. We performed transcriptomic analysis of the whole tissues of 6-day-old bai1, hmr-2 and Col-0 plants to reveal differentially expressed genes (DEGs).
