The present study investigated the transcriptome profiles of the berry skin from black and white spine grape at three fruit developmental stages by Illumina mRNA-Seq technology. It revealed the special of anthocyanins accumulation in V. davidi at transcriptional level. The data reported here will provide an valuable resource for understanding more about anthocyanins accumulation in grape, especially in V. davidii.
