Next Generation Sequencing of Response to Mito-Tempo in Intestinal Mucosal Biopsies from Crohn's Disease patients

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the transcriptomic changes in active Crohn's disease biopsies driven by a mitochondrial-targeted drug (Mito-Tempo) Overall design: Terminal ileal mucosal biopsies from active sites of Crohn's disease or non-IBD control patients were treated in an ex vivo culture system at 0.5 mg/g tissue Mito-Tempo or vehicle in a humidified environment at 37°C and 5% CO2 for 2 hr. Total RNA was isolated from patient biopsies and analyzed by RNA sequencing by Novogene.
