The highly exposed persistently HIV-seronegative subjects (HESN) are those who remain uninfected despite repeated exposure to HIV through various routes. The protective mechanisms for HESN individuals are inherently multifaceted. However, whether lncRNAs exert functions in antiviral defenses of HESN remains to be elucidated. Therefore, we conducted RNA sequencing on the HIV-1 highly exposed seronegative individual and the healthy control to identify potential functional lncRNAs.
