The Izu Islands are an archipelago in the Pacific Ocean, administratively under the jurisdiction of Tokyo Metropolis, Japan (Tokyo Metropolitan Island District). Geographically, the archipelago spans latitudes from 29°47′38″N to 34°47′57″N and longitudes from 138°48′55″E to 140°20′32″E. It consists of the Izu Seven Islands (Izu Ōshima, Toshima, Niijima, Kōzu-shima, Miyake-jima, Mikura-jima, Hachijō-jima) and other islands including Hachijō-kojima, Aoshima, Torishima, Shikine-jima, Udoneshima, Jinnaijima, Hayajima, Enchijima, Ginamijima, Ōnobaru-jima, Qianzhou, Luntanbo Island, Sumisujima, etc. Stretching 486 km north-south, the archipelago is formed by ancient and modern volcanoes belonging to the Fuji Volcanic Belt. The largest island is Izu Ōshima, commonly called Ōshima, with an area of 90.98 km². The highest elevation point is West Mountain (854 m), the peak of Hachijō-jima. This dataset is compiled based on Google Earth imagery and integrated with relevant maps, stored in .kmz and .shp formats. It contains 15 uncompressed data files with a total size of 2.95 MB, and is compressed into 2 files with a size of 1.12 MB.
