Pre‑Architecture: The Ontological Foundation of Systemic Development

This publication introduces Pre‑Architecture as a new scientific categorywithin the Infrastructure Sciences of Development. Pre‑Architecture definesthe ontological conditions under which systems can process development asdirected, stabilised, and structured movement. It operates beneath models,methods, and theories and provides the foundational layer required for anysystemic developmental processing. The paper demonstrates that existing disciplines—systems theory, cybernetics,and architectural theory—offer essential components but do not describe theconditions of possibility for development. Pre‑Architecture closes this gap bydefining the structural, functional, and stabilising prerequisites that enabledevelopment in closed systems. The Architectural Development Infrastructure is presented as the firstrealisation of Pre‑Architecture. It integrates structural closure, directedfunctional logic, and dynamic stability into a coherent, neutral, and globallyscalable system architecture. This foundational work positions Pre‑Architecture as a culturally independent,non‑psychologising, and structurally invariant infrastructure for systemicdevelopment and establishes it as a new scientific category beneath existingmodels, methods, and theories.
