Quantum oscillations have long served as a powerful probe of fundamental
electronic properties. Traditionally, such studies have been limited to
linear electrical transport, where the signal remains unchanged under
reversal of magnetic field polarity. This work presents the first
experimental evidence of quantum oscillations in nonlinear transport,
which instead show polarity-dependent responses and reveal key
Fermi-surface features beyond the reach of linear-transport
quantum-oscillation studies. Using α-Sn, a topological Dirac semimetal
supporting both linear and nonlinear transport, we show that
nonlinear-transport oscillations are highly sensitive to the Fermi
contour’s geometry and spin texture, with distinct magnetic field and
temperature dependencies. These findings establish nonlinear-transport
quantum oscillations as a transformative tool for exploring Fermi-surface
physics and open new avenues for uncovering exotic electronic states.
