This dataset is derived from the Chinese Agricultural NH₃ Emission Management Model (CANEMM), developed by the ACAQ research group at Peking University. The model builds upon the “bottom-up” agricultural NH₃ emission estimation methods (fertilizer application and livestock husbandry) proposed by Zhang et al. (2018) and Chen et al. (2021), while further integrating and optimizing ammonia emission estimation approaches and modeling frameworks. By incorporating updated, more detailed, and more comprehensive spatial distribution data, activity data, and emission factors, the model develops a monthly, high-resolution (0.1° × 0.1°) gridded inventory of agricultural NH₃ emissions in China for 2008–2020. It quantifies NH₃ emission characteristics from 21 crop types, 6 types of nitrogen fertilizers, and 2 fertilization methods in cropland activities, as well as from 12 livestock categories and 3 farming systems across the entire process of livestock husbandry.
