The gridded carbon fluxes were calculated by an empirical model (SCAPE; Ueyama et al., 2010); carbon fluxes of GPP and Ecosystem Respiration (RE) were empirically up-scaled with the eddy covariance data observed at the UAF site and satellite remote sensing (Modereta Resolution Spectral Radiometer). The model calculated the fluxes between 2003 and 2006 for black spruce forests in Alaska with a spatial resolution of 250 m.
