This environmentally isolated strain was sequenced due to its status as an MDR isolate and its use as a bacteriophage propagation strain. This species is nonpathogenic but has been reported to be remarkably resistant to environmental stressors, such as ultraviolet light, desiccation, and osmotic stress. Theses qualities make this strain interesting in the context antibiotic resistance reservoirs, and the spread of antibiotics to other species through several mechanisms.
