Brueelia nebulosa isolate:Et.F2 Genome sequencing and assembly. Brueelia nebulosa isolate:Et.F2

A draft genome assembly and annotation of the genome of the avian louse Brueelia nebulosa, which was sampled from a European Starling (Sturnus vulgaris). The study used PacBio long reads and linked Illumina short reads (TellSeq) to assemble scaffolds from an individual lice. The mitochondrial genome and genome of the primary endosymbiont (Sodalis) was also recovered from the the sequence data. Obtaining these types of data from High Molecular Weight DNA has previously been challenging for small-bodied organisms. The results from this study are therefore a valuable contribution to genomics science, especially for studies of non-model and/or small-bodied organisms.
