Sight-Threatening Pseudotumor Cerebri Due to Acute Promyelocytic Leukaemia Treated with Optic Nerve Sheath Fenestration

Acute promyelocytic leukemia (APML) can lead to pseudotumour cerebri (PTC), either due to direct effects of the disease or as a complication of its treatment with the vitamin A derivative all-trans-retinoic acid or arsenic. We report the case of a patient with sight-threatening papilledema secondary to APML-induced PTC who was treated with bilateral optic nerve sheath fenestration.
