The CFPB Complaints dataset contains 7 million complaints received by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) from December 1, 2011, to January 2, 2025. This dataset includes information about complaints on consumer financial products and services. Complaints are published after confirming a commercial relationship with the consumer or after 15 days, whichever comes first. Complaints referred to other regulators, such as those about depository institutions with assets under $10 billion, are not included in the Consumer Complaint Database. The database is generally updated daily. The dataset does not include narratives with personal information unless the consumer agrees to share it, and we take steps to remove personal information before publication.
