drosophila_neuropeptides: A curated database of neuropeptide expression by Drosophila cell types

Community-curated, version-controlled ground-truth dataset linking neuronal cell types in Drosophila melanogaster connectomes to evidence for their expression of ~50 known neuropeptides (e.g. Akh, AstA, AstC, Burs, Capa, CCHa1/2, CNMa, Crz, CCAP, Dh31, Dh44, Dsk, ETH, FMRFa, Hugin, Lk, Ms, NPF, sNPF, PDF, Proc, SIFa, TK and others). Companion to the [drosophila_neurotransmitters](https://github.com/flyconnectome/drosophila_neurotransmitters) dataset and curated under the same Pull-Request-driven workflow. Used as ground truth and reference annotation for connectome analyses in Drosophila, including the BANC connectome paper (Bates, Phelps, Kim, Yang et al., 2026, Nature, open access; doi: 10.1038/s41586-026-10735-w; preprint v3: https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2025.07.31.667571v3).
