This repository contains the data, analysis code, and Dune Analytics (DuneSQL) queries accompanying the manuscript "Timing Blockchain-Based E-Commerce Payments: Intra-Day Gas Price Cycles on Ethereum and Implications for Cost-Efficient Transaction Scheduling", submitted to Electronic Commerce Research and Applications (Elsevier). The study investigates whether Ethereum's consensus throughput exhibits a recurring intraday cycle, and whether the quietest periods ("Dead Zones") coincide with the lunch-break hours of major global financial centers (London, New York, Hong Kong). Using granular 10-minute Ethereum transaction and gas-price data for the full 2025 calendar year (52,560 observations), we apply Seasonal-Trend decomposition (STL) and non-parametric hypothesis testing (Mann-Whitney U, Cohen's d) to identify low-cost transaction-scheduling windows for e-commerce payment processors and other blockchain-settled batch transactions. Contents:- data/ — two CSV files: granular transaction throughput (365 days x 144 ten-minute intervals) and gas-price/block-fullness metrics- code/ — full reproducible analysis pipeline (STL decomposition, Dead Zone detection, statistical testing, sensitivity analysis, figure generation) and an interactive Streamlit dashboard- queries/ — the exact DuneSQL queries used to extract the raw data from Ethereum mainnet, for full reproducibility from the canonical on-chain source Code is released under the MIT License; data is released under CC BY 4.0.
