资源简介:
This collection consists of images and text from a level 3 buildings recording survey by TJC Heritage Ltd, at High Farm, West Barnby, North Yorkshire from 2021 to 2022. The buildings contribute towards the regional typology of farmhouse, barns and other vernacular buildings as a farmstead group, and although heavily altered are typical of the style, range and type of buildings which characterise a North York Moors farmstead group. The buildings are primarily relate to pastoral, moorland farming but are indicative of other smaller scale activities such as the rearing of pigs, and the processing of grain potentially to supplement winter feed stocks. The buildings are indicative of change through time and are particularly indicative of the early 20th century dairy regulations, with the introduction of concrete rendered walls and floors. There is also evidence for the possible survival of fabric relating to earlier development at the site particular in areas of Building 3, however the extent of change makes it difficult to decipher the earlier form and use of this building.
