"A method of measuring the effective surface area of antennas at short ranges using a reference antenna in the form of an open end of a waveguide with a flange is proposed and realized. For a reference antenna in the form of a pyramidal horn, a technique for measuring its effective area is proposed, taking into account the position of the antenna phase center in the frequency band. Receiving antennas in the form of the open end of the waveguide in the frequency range of 8\u201310 GHz with effective area from 3.5 to 0.3 cm2 are created. Detectors of powerful microwave pulses for generation frequencies of 8\u201312 GHz were created. The detectors are calibrated at the frequency of 9.4 GHz."
