Data supporting the paper 'An alternative pattern of head expansion during feeding in cichlids'

This deposit concerns the raw video data and numerical data from the figures of the article "An alternative pattern of head expansion during feeding in cichlids" by Jana De Ridder and colleagues from the University of Antwerp.Video data is grouped in one ZIP folder containing:(1) A .CSV spreadsheet file "Content information.csv" listing the type of experiment (shrimp or spirulina tabs as food) species names, individual fish ID number, data of recording, whether the video it is used for the head volume change computations, and the location in the folder.(2) a folder 'Shrimp experiment' containing the videos of feeding on shrimp and the respective calibration files (ruler image).(3) a folder 'Spirulina experiment' containing the videos of feeding on spirulina tablets and the respective calibration files for scaling (ruler image).Video legend:Videos used in this deposit are converted from raw tiff stacks (8-bit grey values) into .mp4 format with h264 codec with replay speed of 30 frames per second at the original resolution (1280 x 1024 pixels). All original videos are recorded at 500 frames per second, hence the time between two frames is 0.002 s and the slow-motion factor is 16.666667. Videos from corresponding lateral and ventral views from the same event have matching frame times with a potential deviation of maximally plus or minus 2 ms.
