The standard C. albicans clinical isolate, SC5314, and an environmental isolate from oak trees, NCYC 4144 (Bensasson, 2019), were serially transferred for 6 weeks in defined medium with 2% galactose as a carbon source to mimic aspects of the human diet. After this laboratory evolution regime, three lines of each strain were sequenced with Illumina short reads.
