资源简介:
Between September 1993 and May 1995, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Louis District's Mandatory Center of Expertise for the Curation and Management of Archaeological Collections (MCX) conducted a survey of archaeological collections and associated documentation generated from archaeological investigations conducted on 42 U.S. Air Force, Air Combat Command (ACC) installations.
This initial volume addressed collections from the following installations: Avon Park Air Force Range, Florida; Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana; Beale Air Force Base, California; Cannon Air Force Base, New Mexico; Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, Arizona; Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington; Holloman Air Force Base, New Mexico; Langley Air Force Base, Virginia; MacDiII Air Force Base, Florida; Melrose Air Force Range, New Mexico; and Poinsett Air Force Range and Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.
In sum, approximately 101 cubic feet of artifacts in 34 distinct collections and approximately 13 linear feet of records and 125 reports from ACC installations are being curated by 19 repositories in eight different states. All collections require at least partial rehabilitation to comply with Federal regulations, and 50% of the collections require complete rehabilitation.
